True enough. In fact the filtering has already been done for you by ChessBase themselves when you buy the Powerbook opening tree, explictly made from high quality games only. And, yes, I agree that the other stuff is still lots of fun. For instance, if you are a fair to middling club player you may want to create an opening tree from 1. e4 e5 2. Qh5 just so you'll know how to refute it against the local clown at your chess club who keeps playing it and even winning with it. But 80 games that start out with 1. e4 e5 2. Qh5 Nf6?? 3. Qxe5+ is utterly useless for any purpose that I can imagine.
