Actually, my firefox does display the multiplication dot correctly. I did have
this problem once, but it was due to the character endoding. If the webpage
supplies the correct encoding, everything is fine, but firefox uses a default
character encoding most web-developers don't use. I can't remember (how) I
changed it, but my default encoding is now western (ISO-8859-1) and all kinds of
symbols show up correctly now.
