congratulations on your recent acquisition of the SC12B!
as you know the SC12 contains the 1983 World Champion Budapest program

Fidelity used these letter designation's  to indicate models  released with
different clock speeds
Fidelity released the Sensory 12(SC12) with several different clock speeds as
follows
(other then the varied clock speed,each version is identical):

SC12(also known as the SC12A)-3Mhz
SC12B-4Mhz
SE12(Special Edition)-3.2 Mhz
SC12C-5 Mhz
RCS Granit "S"(Germany only)-9 Mhz

not only will the B appear on the face of your SC12 but it should also appear on
the original box:
