I can't agree with your conclusion in your review. While I do agree that FICS is
a real nice server the main problem seems to be the lack of players and not the
lack of titled players. Often I have to wait for minutes to get a game on FICS
while I can get a game almost instantly on playchess. If FICS only would have
more players it would be a great chess server.
The chessbase interface is also -despite the bugs it might have- one of the
nicest interfaces IMO (Babaschess and Blitzin are nice too). There are usually
not that many Admins on playchess around as on icc, true, but there are usually
enough helpfull and knowlegdable people around to answer most of the questions.
