I run a 5 min tournament with fritz 8 bilbao engine v shredder 8 over 50 rounds. To my surprise after only 16 rounds fritz was leading 12-4. Even if only after a minimum number of games, and hundreds of games would have to be played enabling each engine to learn with its book. Does this early sign show a strength of the engines, a possible hash problem with shredder ,or is shredder always like this and comes back? Is a custom made book better? and how many games should this include?
