Steen: So that means that 100% of the hash memory is utilized after the first
few moves? And then what? I guess I am asking why other engines reset the hash
to zero at the beginning of each move, but Gandalf accumulates. If I see a reset
- it is easy for me to determine if an engine needs more hash or not during
typical games. It is not so easy with Gandalf. Example - in 3 minute blitz and
64 meg hash, I never see Shredder 8 approach 100%, but with Gandalf, after move
6 or so, I am at 99%. I would think 64 meg is sufficient for this TC though.
