The main problem with FICS is the level of cheating on the server. I know of
many players that only play on ICC now because of it.

The second is the way the admins treat people. I can name a few admins from
there that shouldn't be allowed to walk and chew gum at the same time only for
the fact when they fall over they might hurt someone else.

I agree the voice + video chat in the interface is nice. And I stated that.
Unfortunately my main two knocks for Playchess were the admins, and the ability
to use only one interface.

I mainly use Winboard to connect to most servers. I love it, it uses little
resources, you can customize it, and you can easily add engines to it.

One person here called Winboard the DOS of chess interfaces. If that is a fact,
then DOS might just be the best thing out there. :)
