Excuse the off topic post, but it does have some
relevance to this forum.

Being an Australian and accepting that there are minor
differences in the way Australians speak to the rest of the
English speaking world, there seems to be greater variations
in the way we express ourselves in print.

There are many instances of abbreviated terms used in posts
that we don't use in Australia. Most of these terms I have
managed to decipher, others have me stumpted, and probably
other terms I am unaware of.

The following terms I have encountered some of which I can only
make guesses.

IMO:- In my opinion
IMHO:- In my humble opinion.
BTW:- By the way??

<G> or <g>:- ???? (I have no idea on this one).

Are there any other terms I should be made aware of?

Regards to all

Steven

PS (Ha!) Are these abbreviated terms taught in your schools
or are have they evolved through the Internet?
