Both formats are useful. As a human, I can read the stripped format more easily. However, if I feed both into Winboard or some other appropriate viewer, there is no difference in readability, of course. Some people may enjoy going over the game completely in their mind without the use of software tools of any sort. For them, probably a purged game is better.
