Now Mac users who haven't installed X11, Polyglot and Xboard can play with
HIARCS 9.6 Mac,
Fruit 2.0.0,
Ruffian 2.1,
Deep Sjeng 1.6,
Gothmog and/or
Glaurung.
using the free <BR><A HREF="http://www.sigmachess.com/">Sigma Chess 6.1
Lite</A><BR>
(released Sunday, demo version of HIARCS included, at
<http://www.sigmachess.com/> )
Sigma Chess is now a UCI GUI for the Macintosh under the standard Mac OS/X
environment (Aqua) .
Links for the six Mac UCI engines listed above, already compiled for OS/X Aqua,
are here:

Engines for Mac OS X</A><BR>
Sigma Chess still can be run as an engine under <BR><A
HREF="http://www.exachess.com/downloads.html">ExaChess Litee</A><BR>
This allows ExaChess to use any of the UCI engines above for analysis or for
engine-engine matches by:
(1) put an alias to Sigma Chess in the ExaChess folder (only have to do once)
(2) Launch Sigma chess and select the desired UCI engine, then quit.
(3) Launch ExaChess and select Sigma Chess as the engine. Sigma Chess will then
"channel" for the selected UCI engine.
Sigma Chess has many other nice features, including such things as:
- editable open book
- two column printing of annotated games with embedded diagrams to printer, .pdf
file or .html
- rating history graph
