From the Hiarcs Mac webside:

"The HIARCS 9.6 chess engine on the Macintosh is a significant improvement  on
the HIARCS 9.0 chess engine currently available for PC computers."

"Free  upgrade for registered customers to the HIARCS 10 chess engine when it is
 available."

From this I don't think it's the next Hiarcs 10. I think Hiarcs 10 will be a SMP
version, but this is just my personal guess.
