I imagine that the junior team has thourougly analysed junior games vs the top engines and especially the raining world champion at that time (shredder). If i t was me one of the testers, i'll always try to improve my engine by testing it in opening lines and positions were he played badly. If i get an improvement i'll check that these improvements keep his strength of play in the other positions at almost the same level sothat the overall result is an imporvement. I guess that Junior's team doesn't test their engine with the Junior9 Book. It was already noticed by Anson T.J that junior's book isn't really excellent containing many loosing variations !!?? Bizarre. The final closure is that Shredder seems to remain on top. We have to wait for Shredder9 to see if Shredder 8 could be beaten. At least at the SSDF list i think that Shredder 9 will not beat Shredder8 in their respective match, but will perform better against the other engines and thus will may be top this rating list
