HI Alain >I suppose it is quite rare and would be expensive on ebay... yes it was very expensive but as you say..unusually rare and of historical importance so to me it was worth the price you do not find a computer like this on Ebay(or at least i have never seen an Excalibur on Ebay) only about 50 of them were made by Mephisto >Anyway : is the ESB on the picture special or can the Mephisto Excalibur be >connected to an older ESB (like ESB II for example) ? as you correctly point out the board used is similar to an ESB board but the Excalibur module was not interchangable and was fixed to the board so the computer was not able to accept any other modules if you look closely on top of the Mephisto display screen you will see the black program module what looks like a Mephisto I or II OR III computer really is not used in the Excalibur it is used only for the display screen with the program module seperate and apart from the Mephisto portable unit Best Regards Steve
