Steve, You bring back old memories. I brought my Chess Challenger X over to my father's in the early 80's. It was supposed to play at a 1700+ rating. Maybe it did; who knows? It was the first computer my father had any contact with. My father played in the 1928 Russian chess championship. He was no patzer. We drank beer and played (in consultation) against the Challenger, beating it handily many games. Many beers later, I looked at the current position and said, "Dad, we are about to lose a piece, maybe we should pay attention!" My father had apparently been paying more attention than me. He was a psychiatrist. He said, "Don't worry. I have played many people(!) like this. He will accept any sacrifice". We proceeded to lose all the pieces on the queenside while we mated the challenger on the kingside. My father is no more, but it is a great memory. Walter
