I've also, always claimed that there must be a way of judging without too many games needed, but have never made extensive experiments to prove it. e.g. how many moves it takes when it wins, draws, loses, whether it's losses or draws are as White, Black etc. and depending on opening advantages or lack thereof etc. What kind of games are being judged, are they skill games, or games which show up bugs etc. Many minute details should point to much more than what any of us ever seem to admit to. But answers such as the "short and sweet" answer above are almost ALWAYS the reply everyone always gives here to this particular kind of question. S.Taylor
