I may be wrong, and if so hope someone will correct me since I havent used CM X. Though from what I've heard of ppl using the engine on FICS, and elsewhere is that while you can use the engine in other applications (xboard/UCI?). It is a bit weaker because it relys on the interface for opening book/end game data.
