Why do you say Fritz 8 a stupid program? I don't say it's more intelligent than humans in many areas of the Chess game, but it can beat 0.9999% of them(us) for sure and with the other 0.0001% of humans that remains, the game is equal. So judging from the result and only we can't say Fritz 8 is stupid........ It does not understand a positional move that requires a deep plan and this makes it stupid there. But people can't calculate with computer's accuracy so that makes them stupid there. Fritz has not plan but plays without doing big mistakes. People have plans but make mistakes........So the overall intelligent is about equal........... > >looking at the game it seems that Fritz does not understand that after >16.Rhc1 a6 the white knight is in trouble. > >White probably can save the knight by a4 b4 b5 but stupid fritz has no plan >and 18.b3 instead of 18.b4 and 20.a4 instead of 20.b4 simply lose material. > >I suspect that it is possible that the computer was slowed down because of >another application when Fritz played 20.a4 >Another possibility is that Fritz has problems with it's time management when it >has less than 1 minute on slow hardware. > >Uri
