I take it that it is very >difficult to do so! >LCD f..a..d.i.n...g regards, actually its not an electrical problem the LCD pieces were generated by a powder like crystal that would be illuminated when the screen was turned on after almost 25 years these powder crystals have either all dried up or turned black,thereby causing the screen to totally blacken as a footnote.. i have a Savant Royale with the screen malfunction,BUT if i attach the Novag Printer i can actually play a full game i can touch the screen and even though i cannot see the lcd pieces,the processor still works and i can print out a board diagram after each move and play the game this btw is not all that uncommon. many Savants will still have a working processor its the screen that has gone bad Idiot Savant Regards Steve
