Here's my $0.02 if it helps.

(I haven't used ProDeo so can't vouch) but I've been using xboard with a bot on
FICS for a couple years now so here's my recommendation.

As long as ProDeo (Rebel) knows to load those files correctly from it's
directory then just do this.

xboard -zp -fcp /path/to/ProDeo/ProDeo.exe -fd /path/to/ProDeo -ics -icshost
servername.com

That way when xboard loads the engine as a subprocesses it also tells the engine
where it's directory is located, so it should be able to load the opening book,
etc from there.

I do this with crafty, and various other engines.

Hope this helps a little.

P.S. If ProDeo (Rebel) expects the opening book/etc to be in another directory
than the executable, then just point -fd to whereever that is located.... also
since you're on a windows box.. try placing - for / in the commands

xboard /zp /fcp... etc think that's how WinBoard works vs xboard
