The guy who sold me my Universal Chess Board told me that years ago, he wrote one of the first chess server in France for a newspaper : there was a PC working as a Minitel server and driving a Novag Diablo via RS-232 (if I recall well what he tols me). You probably don't know Minitel : it was a terminal that you could connect via the Phone to servers (games, shops, forums). Speed : 1200 bauds max. Resolution : semi-graphic characters (as the TRS80 I think). The terminal was free but not the connection. Best Alain-who-whished-he-could-also-connect-his-Par-Excellence-or-Elite
