My opinion is that when the pawn value is lower than the other material values, that Chessmaster tends to give up pawns too easy, especially in blitz games. The increased queen value makes CM not quite as eager to trade the queen for two rooks, or other questionable exchanges. Most of the strong commercial engines are quite capable of sending a crushing attack on Chessmaster. That is why I think "myks" needs to be increased, even from the standard "myks=155" that used to be sufficient. Lessening "opks" gives CM an opportunity to focus on other areas, but if it is lowered too much CM might struggle with being too passive. Chessmaster is relatively bad at preventing passed pawns, so I bumped up "oppp" to help it cope. To create this setting under Chessmaster, just make queen value = 9.3 and the rest of the settings below are the same in the GUI.
