hi gearge, sorry to say i had that to. i wanted to re-install winboard as chess informant had hi-jacked all my pgn,fen,and epd file asociations.if you clicked on them,theyed start up chess informant. i think you'll find that some 1 of 3 system files are corrupted. i forget witch ones.i tried replacing them no help. i finally had to do a hard system restore(system restore disk) with out reformat to take care of the problem. i have been told this was caused by a virus.system restore in xp did'nt work as the culprit evidently went back a long way. i never did re-install chess informant so i am not to sure that this was'nt the culprit,because everything else,would install fine as far as i could tell. if you find a better work around let us know. regards mike
