After running many, many engine matches in the Shredder classic GUI, I had a
very nice engine match pgn file, which I used to make a Chessbase database, and
also a very nice Shredder.ctg for the Chessbase GUI.  After importing the games
into the .ctg, simply have the book learn from the database, and also learn
player (in this case Shredder).
