I only buy what pleases me. I probably will not buy new iterations of Junior,
Fritz and some of the others because you have to do everything through the Fritz
GUI (which I don't like.) You can't create EPD output and other things which
are valuable to me.

Same for some of the other oddball ones like MChess (which I should be able to
use from ChessAssistant but I can't figure out how to make it work) and
ChessGenius (which is all by its lonesome) since I can't really do what I want
to with them.

But Shredder, Chess Tiger and others I will get new instances of when they
arrive, along with any really strong UCI engines. Patriot and Ktulu are not
strong enough to make me pull the purchase trigger, but if they should gain some
steam I would probably buy those too. I have bought Ruffian, DeepSjeng and
Rebel UCI. First of all, I like the authors, and second, I want to support
efforts like those. And those three are pretty strong (about the level of pro
engines). ChessMaster also is a bit annoying because I don't want to put cracks
against the binary, even though I legally own it, and I don't want to be
constantly looking up OPK numbers. So I may have bought my last version of CM.

I think Hiarcs may have UCI or Winboard versions and so I will buy those,
especially since Mr. Uniacke was an early supporter of the CAP project.

I buy the Lokasoft tools because I find that I can use them in other GUIs
without too much problem.

Stuff that I cannot get at ICD Your Move Chess and Games I get at either
Lokasoft or at ChessAssistant.
