If there was _any_ program where there has been continual increase in strength, and playing style, Shredder would be it. I have purchased every single version of Shredder since version 3, and I don't plan on stopping now. Only Junior and Gandalf have that distinction as well. Up until this year the only other program that had this distinction in my library was Chess Tiger (This year there was no CB version). Even with the little to none increase in strength, and the mysterious endgame bug, I am still pondering that purchase. Even it is just to have the complete set. If I were you, I would purchase Shredder. It is the strongest program out, offers a new and improved interface, and of course you get Sandro's book. All in all that is a _very_ attractive package. To make it truely unbeatable they could make Sandro's book work in _any_ interface. I would pay double just for that feature. Peter
