All Shredder versions are using the tablebases is those positions to find out that the position is draw. As there is no point in playing a random draw move from the tablebases, Shredder will try to find out the "best" draw move or at least one that is not stupid in a higher sense. I have changed that in Shredder 9 a bit, Shredder 9 will only try to find the best move if there is still a chance to win. Stefan
