The funny thing is, Prodeo without the UCI adapter does not run in analyze mode
in SCID.

According to this

http://home20.inet.tele.dk/larsp/skak/polyglot.html , you can actually get
ProDeo to work in SCID by adding Polyglot to the chain!! Like most people he
thinks Pro Deo is a original UCI engine, so to him it's just a matter of running
RebelUCI thru Polyglot and it works!

So what is actually happening? Prodeo converted to UCI converted back to
Winboard works, where plain old Prodeo in winboard mode doesn't?
