I hope this best explains how I moderate. Moderation Philosophy KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. A common sense approach that attempts to maximize everyone’s enjoyment of the CCC forum. I also embrace diversity and inclusivity. I believe CCC membership policy is inclusive in nature and not exclusive. I also see membership CCC as being a privilege. To enjoy the privileges of CCC, members should abide by the charter. It is my belief all the people of the world, should have the right to join and to enjoy the privilege of being a member in CCC if they have an interest in Computer Chess. Underlying that theme, I have zero tolerance for any posts that degrade any race, culture, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation , etc. of any people group. Beyond that I believe that posts generally should abide by the charter and be about chess computers, computer chess and all that falls in between and that moderation should be kept to a minimum. I also recognize that we are all humans first and not machines and if people stray off topic in friendly or informative way to announce the birth of child or the death of close friend, those posts will certainly not be deleted by me. I also extend more leeway to long time contributors of CCC. If Bob Hyatt and Vince Diepeeven go at it with EACH other – I am not going to interfere. (or at least try not to). Like any club, we sort of watch the newest members first – as often it is the new members that cause most of the problems at CCC. Best, Michael
