Torstein,

I also like the Fritz/CB interface and use it much more than the others. I have
always thought that the differences with an engine running as native or as UCI
were minor, perhaps none. Now, you have me wondering and perhaps I should make
a couple of tests! Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if the difference
was very small, perhaps a few rating points, 5 or less. That would not bother
me.

Like you, I care less about the book and more about the interface, and with an
engine working well with other engines and having no problems. I will get the
UCI Shredder 9 with Stefan's interface and use the engine in Fritz GUI. When I
want to use the real Shredder book, I will use Stefan's GUI. I will probably
use Stefan's UCI when I want to play the engine myself, since his
ELO-handicapping feature seems to work well there.
