I don't think the "majority" of his customers will have a dual/quad/eight way
system.

Not at all. He is following the market trend, which happens in every product.

Did you purchase Deep Fritz or Deep Junior? If you did you paid more than people
who purchased the single processor version.

Do you think the same of Frans or Amir? Of course not.

Again.. if products A and B are offering a single processor program for one
price but offer a multi processor program for a higher price, the market will
dictate that other programs will follow suit.

Just because it was once offered a different way does not mean that it will
always be the same. Markets and business climates change daily.

He is not ripping anyone off. If anything you should be thankful that previous
versions did not cost you more.

Take a look at the price of single processor version chess programs from various
companies. The prices are almost identical. Even when some are only offered as a
download only purchase.

Then look at the price of the multi processor chess program prices. They again
are all within a few dollars of each other.

He has not made a "greedy or foolish" decision. He has made the best business
decision he can to follow the industry trend.

Companies that do not follow the trend get left behind. It is a simple fact.

While you are angry from a customer's stand point, take a moment to see he is
not doing anything wrong from a business stand point.

He is simply following a market trend whether you like it or not.
