Hi André,

Roughly it works like this, consider the classic piece rule: Q=9,R=5,B=3,N=3
then:

midgame  = sum > 26 + queen
endgame0 = sum > 26 - queen
endgame1 = sum < 27
endgame2 = sum < 11

Pawns not counted. Sum = white+black.
