Easy. I played a couple of hundred games with S8 versus the lets say 8 serioust
contenders. Then I play the same number of games versus the same contenders with
a new Shredder. If the difference between Shredder X and the rest of the field
is bigger than between Shredder 8 and the rest of the field the new version is
better!
Another possibilty would be to collect ALL games and make a rating list with
Elostat.
