Hello Marc,
You are entitled to your opinion no matter how narrow it is. But a question or
two for you. What would you consider "Playing on GM level". For one thing, are
you aware there are several GM's with FIDE ratings in the 2300 range? Are you
aware there are many GM's with ratings in the 2400 range ? If you don't believe
this then look it up. A program's playing level is not based on a single
position or opening. No one is saying the programs are perfect or that they
play on the Super GM level with GK/Anand. Also why pick on Chessmaster? It's
rating is certainly close to Fritz/Junior/Hiarcs. As you can take any program
apart and point out their weakness the same can be done with any GM. Hey, if it
walks like a Duck and plays like a Duck it's probably guess what !
