It seems to either been made to specifially beat it, or Fritz just simply can not handle the rather risky play that Junior shows. Against the more solid engines like Shredder it has it's problems. When the final ranking from the SSDF comes in, I am fairly sure that Junior 9 will beat Shredder 8, but not Shredder 9. In watching Shredder 9 play I have been pretty impressed. Stefan has again reached into the magical pool of chess programming to come up with yet another strength increase. Peter
