The dual Opteron 244 is still in process of being built. The company has promised me that it will be overnighted tomorrow - to arrive on Friday. Little time left for testing.,etc. So at this point in time, the Crafty Classic code has not been optimized for 64 bits. Fortunately, I have received two different Crafty 19.18 Xp Pro 64 compiliations for running Crafty (thanks to both kind souls) and I have the Win Pro 64 OS installation disk (downloaded from MS) ready to go. So far , I know one of the 64 bit execuables will do 3.1M+/nps on the Crafty bench test in the planned configuration. The other 64 bit executable could be faster or slower, but at this time it is not tested. My tests comparing 19.18 to Crafty Classic shows that 19.18 is stronger than Classic , so it is likely I will go with stock Crafty 19.18 64-bit with just some of my favorite Crafty parameter settings. (will be revealed until after tournament ends). I do not want to think about plan b should the box not ship tomorrow or should it not work. Although all reports are that the latest Win Xp Pro 64 is one of the most stabled OS betas ever in MS history. Isn't living life on the edge grand...
