Again *IF and only if* you have Linux experience maybe try it...
Linux has been 64bit for I dont know how many years ... perhaps 5-10 dating back
to Alpha or SGI. But Opteron support has been there for a while.

Seems like Windows is crapping out, and since I'm a big crafty fan, I'd hate to
see crafty lose because Windows, let alone a beta, crapped out to a blue screen
of death during the tournament.. Besides you can always dual boot...

If you're going to spend endless hours installing, heck install Linux (assuming
you understand linux/un*x), and get it up and running as a backup, then spend
the other hours installing WinXP 64. Whatever works...well..works.

If you don't have experience, then I pray you can get all of the drivers working
before CCT7 starts.

My true hopes and chess prayers are with you. Sincerely, I dont care what OS you
run, I just want Crafty to have a fair chance.
