Hi William.First I am glad you enjoy your new gui.I am curious.Besides the
online six man egtb's what is it that Chessbase is not doing that Stefan's
classic gui is.I heard someone say they liked the analysis feature where they
could limit the candidate moves.I found chessbase to have many different ways to
anaylise.I.E Deep position or simply plugging in one of my own candidates and
letting Shredder have fun in infinite analysis.I am Having a lot of fun using
Friend mode with shredder in CB the first few games I won easily but as the
program ajusts to my strength it is getting interesting.I write this as I have
read alot about UCI or Chessbase and at first had a hard time deciding which I
may purchase as I cannot afford everything.I decided to wait until results prove
to me a superior program over Shredder8.Also I decided Chessbase Is a powerful
tool with the extra benefit of having a super site for playing so it would be a
chessbase product despite the bugs that have been appearing.I am reasonably
certain they will correct this .:-).In addition CB handles Databases with ease
and creating new ones from recent play is a snap.I must say that I have been
having problems with running wb engines(Prodeo recently,wb2uci)in that sometimes
they just hang or do not shut down when unloaded.Have you encountered anything
like this with Classic gui?To sum up.Where do you feel chessbase lacks in the
analysis dept?Do you find shredderchess better for other engines? And how do you
feel the strength or perhaps style has changed between Shredder8 and
Shredder9.Thanks for your input.

P.S Winboard gui remains an attractive alternative for running these
Programs. And the Price is right . :-)even I venture to say undervalued.
