Subject: An old unsolved question

Dear Chess Friends !

We have endless discussions with one of my friend. He always states that any
matches or tournaments between the engines being run on one computer are a big
waste of time. I just want to stop those debates and I want to connect my
computers for a match between 2 engines at last.

Could someone explain me in children language how to run a match or a
tournament on 2 different computers, please !? I have a desktop PC, which is
Pentium IV 2.8, and a laptop with AMD 64, 3200. Both PCs run Windows XP and they
have 512 RAM.

Which ports do I have to use for connections – printer port, USB, FireWire ,
etc, etc ? Do I need an additional software to establish a network, or Fritz
program has this possibility ?

Then, what I have to do step by step:
1)….
2)…
3)… etc.

I would deeply appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

Best wishes
Anatoli
