The Shredder 9 that can be bought on CD can ONLY be used in Chessbase GUI's. The Shredder 9 UCI that cannot be bought on CD can be used everywhere a UCI engine can be used, which includes any of the latest Chessbase interfaces as well as ChessBase 9. When you buy Shredder 9 UCI, you get the superb Shredder Chess Classic interface at no additional charge. And you get the Shredder 9 book that can ONLY be used in this interface. When you buy the Shredder 9 CD from ChessBase (no one else issues it), you get the same Shredder 9 book, BUT, it can only be used in a ChessBase interface. I hope everyone understands this by now.
