An other example. Yace - Matacz was dead draw: pawn vs. bishop. But engines would not agree. Yace was moving instantly, but Matacz took its time thinking. Operators were clearly not allowed to draw themselves. So we waited. Such a game can go on for hundreds of moves (the pawn advancing each 50 moves), and only the increment will be left on the clock. ICC/WB have a bug (at least I call it like this), and ICC can report 4 s rest time, when in reality it is 3.5 s. The engine might think 3.6 s and lose on time. What is the correct result? Also, sometimes there seem to be small lags, that are not corrected by timestamp. BTW Blitzin receives fractions of seconds. Assume in P vs B the pawn side loses on time. ICC would give draw. FIDE rules not (the pawn can underpromote, and a helpmate is possible; btw. I think that rule is somewhat stupid, but it is also clear, that formulating a better rule might be difficult).
