Morning everyone, After some much needed sleep, I am ready to get going. Today will be _extreme_ interesting as there are some nice surprises to go along with the always exciting chess. At 9am EST users will be treated to some _very_ interesting match-ups. Zappa - Pharaon Fruit - Crafty SOS - Matacz Zappa has been on absolute fire. With a perfect 5/5 thus far, he has to be considered the favorite going into the final day. Pharaon is no slouch, so it will be a very interesting game. In Fruit - Crafty we have the newcomer vs last year's champ. Even with no preparation of books and little time to connect Crafty's score of 3.5/5 is extremely good. Matacz surely will be voted this year's biggest surprise. Seeded #29th it is making everyone stand up and take notice. It has been extremely good. Chess.fm is broadcasting the event today, and as always Jon Schroer will be commenting. As I did yesterday, there will be updates on the website shortly after they happen. I tried my very best to keep it all updated for those who wanted to be informed. Just some quick stats from yesterday: The website received 10,392 page views. The total of files downloaded were 9,412 (rounds 1 - 5) I recieved 308 emails, including requests to register.. (yes.. really) I had to stop allowing guests to speak to me, as I just simply could not keep up. If you have ever used Blitzin, tells come to your screen in yellow. For a time there I had to put sunglasses on just to look at the screen :) Channel 1 on the ICC server (The help) channel had 58 questions about the event. The #1 chatters in channel 64 yesterday was a tie between Yace-Author (Dieter) and sfarrell (Scott). :) There was only one round where the pairings were not completed before the next round began. This was due to a long game still in progress. All in all it was a fun day and I am sure today will be no different. So come watch!! Listen to Chess.fm as you never know who you might hear :) Peter
