Hi Alan > I also purchased a Fidelity Mach 111 and had to exchange it twice before > I got one that worked as it should! The German machines were much more > reliable it seemed. generally that is the accepted school of thought, that Mephistos are more reliable then other brands however for me it turned out quite the opposite i have a Mephisto ESB II board and an ESB 6000 Board both massive wooden boards i think these boards could survive a direct nuclear attack and survive entact yet both of mine are both dead as doorknobs while on the other hand i rarely have trouble with any of my Fidelities. it is true that many of the auto -sensory Fidelities wind up with dead reed switches after awhile, but these are generally easy to fix Best Steve
