Subject: Operating Thinker and operating CCT7

Many probably do not realize the amount of effort needed to operate an engine in
a tournament like CCT7. With a perfect engine, maybe there should be no need to
do anything at all. But with a misbehaving engine, it's a lot of work.

In Thinker's case, Enrico did all the hard work. He was able to correct my
mistakes in Thinker’s book, and made me realize that something is really broken
with the engine’s performance in day 1. Before day 2, I had to go back to the
source and take out the risky experimental code I've put in. He was then quick
to recognize that I had broken the hashing for day 2, and he adjusted
appropriately.

What many were not prepared for was that Thinker would have a partner, the
hidden ace, in the person of Enrico.

For now, I will not go through all games and write my analysis. I'll do that
once I recover the lost sleep. It is evident however that Thinker had to earn
its every half point - fighting back from almost lost positions.

Now, what does it take to operate CCT? Only those who have done so can answer
that. But it is definitely beyond what I am capable of.

So, from me and Thinker: Thanks Enrico; Thanks Peter.
