Not at all.

With CB you _know_ that the engine can not be use anywhere else.
With CB you _know_ that the book can not be use anywhere else.
You _know_ exactly what you are getting, and where it can be used.

With the Shredder 9 CB the same sitation applies.

Shredder 9 UCI is not the case. You can use it in nearly every interface, yet
the book that was specifically made for it can only be used in one interface.

I am just having trouble with the notion that the UCI standard author does not
use the "ownbook" option in his engine. I don't understand why this would be
done, other than the fact to lock users into his interface. If that is the case,
why even offer the CB version?

I don't expect you to say anything regarding this Ingo. You are a
tester/employee of Shredder, and are biased. You have also done just about
everything you can here to promote the product, and as such you deserve whatever
benefits were given to you.

I am not against Shredder or Stefan in any way. I defended many points of the
current marketing campaign, but this one just escapes me. I hope all the best
for it, and no doubt it will again top the SSDF list. It just won't be a program
that I will be owning.
