Actually icc can work for AMD's I am not sure about the latest version. I ran across a link (since lost) where a patch made icc generates AMD specific code. Intel apparently kept it hidden. Hmmm in case they ever some how licensed something from AMD and they could turn it back on? gcc with profiling seems to be almost as good as icc at least for my old PIII. I am not so sure about gcc4. It seems to have lots of problems still and I don't think I have gotten profiling to work with it yet. This is all on Linux using the free Linux Intel compilers which run about 1 year and 1 version behind the commerial ones.
