It has nothing to do with overvaluing passers. Solving it quickly perhaps does
involve adding some specific knowledge on connected passers against a rook (with
king far enough away).

The Baron knows at least one pawn will promote quite soon, without seeing the
actual promotion in search. It knows the pawn will promote after doing ply 9. It
is seen in search at the 11th ply (not shown in the pv, but on the next move the
pawn promotes, which is seen in qsearch). Output below is from a Xeon 2.8.
