Subject: Movei report in CCT7:first day

Author: Uri Blass

Date: 03:05:52 02/19/05

Game 1 was against Tohno(one of the weakest programs in the tournament)

the opponent has no book.

The game started 1.d4 Nf6 2.Qd3 d5

looking at Junior9.ctg I was surprised to find 3.Qxh7 after these moves

Movei had no contempt factor and at some point I was afraid from a perpetual
check that was movei main line but fortunately it did not happen and movei
scored was changed to positive.

The decisive blunder in that game was 16.Qxc7 when 16.Rd1 was better.

game 2 was against Rascal(stronger opponent than Tohno).

Movei was relatively fast out of book at move 5 and after few moves chose a rare
move that cause the opponent to blunder very fast

After 9.Bf4 it seems that 9...Nxd4 was a mistake and 9...0-0 is better but the
decisive blunder was simply 11..c5 because after that move movei win the game
easily.

Movei expected 11...c6

Game 3 was against Crafty.
Movei was out of book after 12 moves and I believe that it did not find the best
moves but Crafty did some tactical mistakes (I guess thanks to bad hardware).

First mistake was 22.Kh1 when 22.Rd6 was better
last mistake was 37.Rxc6 when 37.c4 was better but probably also could not save
the game.

Game 4:I believe that Movei got better out of the opening against Sos but
unfortunately it got outsearched and lost the game

At some point I hoped to perpetual check and Sos admitted that it's score is not
realistic and had to lose it's rook to prevent perpetual check but finally won
the game.

Game 5:draw against thinker movei was a pawn up after the opening and also seem
to have positional advantage but unfortunatlely it did not play well and could
not win the game
