This is caused by chessbase's UCI implementation. I have seen this with many UCI
engines. They function normal while using Shredder's classic interface or the
Chesspartner interface. You can try this with Fruit, or ProDeo through wb2uci.

The shorter the time control, the more the UCI engines is handicapped by this.
