Well, let me post a comparison and you can see for yourself.
Some remarks.

To reach 10 ply it takes 1 versus 9 seconds
11 ply 4 vs 20 seconds
12 ply 6 vs 31 seconds
13 ply  27 vs 44 seconds

This is a serious handicap for UCI engines in Chessbase GUI.
