hi peter, thanks for the info. i had suspected this,but as i'm not a programmer by any means,i was reluctent to speak my mind. there are so many people working hard that i have the chance to play with the fruits of there labor. perhaps a little snippette of code in crafty that asks ics, say what willis? it sure looks like a timing thing to me. and your see compiles are not guilty.may have made it worse, but not the problem. yours truly, long time crafty abuser. mike
